Today we use the computer in doing almost everything from working to paying our bills. This is because aside from being easier the use of a computer drastically increases the speed of the work we are doing. The computer is also used in saving the data and information for use in the future.

Even a computer at home could be very important since it can be used to store the family photos along with other important documents. Because of these things the computer must always be ready for use while maintaining its speed. However this can prove difficult when your computer starts to have problems and you will then need to speed up a slow running computer.

These problems could be caused by a few things, like viruses for instance. When your machine becomes infected by viruses this could potentially cause a lot of trouble for you if the necessary steps are taken fast enough. Viruses tend to freeze your computer and damage files that are saved on your computer.

Another thing to watch out for is the disk space on your computer. Whenever you download stuff from the internet it takes up space, even programs that weren't installed properly on your computer or even those that were deleted would usually leave a few files that still occupy space on your computer, which is the most common problem for most slowdowns as files become fragmented and makes it harder for windows to find everything it needs to run a program.

The best way to deal with this problem would be to clean up your computer. You can defragment your hard disk and compress the files to further free up space and increase its speed. You can do this by running the disk defragmenter program and the disk cleanup program found in system tools to speed up a slow running computer.

You can then run a registry cleaner software that will remove corrupted files and the unused files in your registry. It is highly inadvisable not to edit the registry yourself if you don't know what you are doing.
