By: jery smis

Computer owners should be ready to face the fact that any moment, the computer will slow down. The older it is, the bigger the chance that the computer will slow down. So what are the main reasons why a computer tends to slow down? Well one reason can be linked to the actions and the effects of spyware, viruses and hackers. Once a computer becomes infected by a virus, then that computer starts to slow down. So one when that happens you have no other option but to introduce some form of repair. Slow computer affected by viruses and Trojans can be addressed by using many anti-virus programs that can be purchased and that can come for free.

How to fix a slow computer.

Memory: If it is the memory is the cause of your computer getting slow, you will need to buy more memory and add it to your system. You should check with your computer's manufacturer as to what type of memory you should install. If your PC is less than a year old you should have enough memory and I would not worry about more unless you are a heavy gamer.
Spyware: Spyware could be the cause of your computer getting slow. Spyware is software that has been installed on your computer from websites you have visited. This software monitors where you go on the web and sends that data to advertisers so they can target the advertising you receive on your PC. The problem is that this can slow down your PC. If you don't have spyware protection you should get some now and use it to clean your PC form spyware.
The Computer Registry: This is often the most overlooked cause of your computer getting slow. The registry is a data base on your computer that keeps track of all of the software setting and hardware settings. As you install and remove software from your PC it is all tracked in the registry. As you or your software changes the settings in the registry often it leaves behind obsolete settings and becomes corrupted. Since the registry regulates the operation of your PC you it can be the cause of your computer getting slow.

When you repair slow computer, keep in mind that a disk errors can be the culprit as well. You can address that by checking for disk errors by effectively running the CHKDSK in Safe Mode or you can do that from the Recovery Console. Also check for the damaged, altered or any missing critical files by running the System File Checker. This checker is necessary in a sense that once it discovers the protected file has been damaged, missing or altered then the System will restore the correct version of the file. To run this System, just make sure that you log in as an administrator. Defragging the system can also do the trick but exercise care when doing this type of repair. Slow computer that is scheduled for defrag should be ready. All applications including the anti-virus programs should be turned off.

Speed Up Computer - The Answers to Your Computer Speed Problems Are Right Here

By: lylych01

What could be the main cause of slow computer performance? The most logical answer to that question is that a computer is not able to process commands in a timely manner. Usually computers think fast so when it slows down then something is wrong with its logical processes.

In this case, a computer is having a hard time looking for proper files or commands that will make applications run. There are many possible reasons and it is best to dissect them one by one.

One of the major reasons why a computer is slow is due to software problems. It is the hardware that makes a computer work but if windows has errors or there is file corruption then the fastest computer in the world will not help.

Usually computers with problems like this have a harder time processing data and instructions simultaneously. This often manifests in its slow response. Instead of considering upgrading your hard drives, memory or even your processor to assure maximum performance you need to fix these problems and before you start thinking how can I do that, it is actually quite easy to fix slow computer performance.

The major cause of a computers slow performance can be traced to the windows registry. The registry serves as a storage of all the settings and information of a computer. If there are corrupted files in the registry then these errors will cause your computers slow performance.

Since the registry stores all important information about your computer and windows is always opening and editing hundreds of settings in the registry every time you use your computer you can see how all these errors can occur.

The registry is also responsible for remembering important details of all the applications installed, including settings and how they run and if you find you keep losing program, user or desktop settings then the problem is probably in the registry. We can include the fact that there are times when files are saved in the wrong manner. This causes windows to struggle to process them fast enough and results in your computers poor performance.

To repair your slow computer you need to download a free version of a registry scanner or cleaner. Simply install and run it to scan your computers registry. Once the errors are fixed that are caused by corrupted files, you will observe a big change in your computers speed and stop slow computer performance.

Computer Freeze Fix - Avoid the Nightmare Of Your Computer Freezing

By: Brad Armstrong

There are not too many things more upsetting than having a computer freeze up. Computer freezes are so unforgiving! Yes, it is true you can sometimes recover a document you may have been working on, but Windows never can save it all. So, there is always some work that goes to waste whenever your computer freezes and you need a computer freeze fix.

There is also always a lot of time wasted when a computer freezes up. This is because you have to restart your computer; if it will restart. Then you have to figure out where you were when you were so rudely interrupted and try to get back to your work, or play.

Surprise!

Computer freezes come out of the blue without warning. It would be nice if an alert message came on the screen telling you your computer was about to freeze so you could save everything you have opened, but you will get no such warning. The computer will stop and that is it. It is unfortunate, but at this point there is no choice but to hold the on switch for 5 seconds.

Computer freezes are most often caused by Windows operating system registry problems. It is rare when a freeze is caused by a problem in the PC's hardware. If the computer has a habit of rebooting all of a sudden, this could be a bad power supply in the PC.

A Computer that Reboots on its Own is a Different Problem`

A computer that reboots without being prompted to do so could alternately have a virus, incidents of spyware or registry corruption causing this errant reboot. However, such unwanted rebooting is often cured by changing the power supply.

Freezing problems are almost never caused by a bad power supply. Yes, a virus or spyware could cause a computer freezing problem but most times it is registry corruption that is the culprit behind the freeze.

The Science Behind Freeze-ups

Why would registry corruption cause a computer to freeze? To understand the answer to this, think of a computer freeze as operating system confusion. The operating system is constantly looking for directions to its next instruction. It has to ask the registry where information it needs is stored. When the registry supplies more answers than questions asked, the operating system has no idea what to do and so; it quits.

Of course, all these extra answers would not be in the registry if it was clear of corruption. Also, it could be a virus or spyware has planted this misinformation in the registry and you can find this too with a system and registry scanner.

Preventing Registry Corruption

Most times, registry corruption is the result of normal use. So, don't beat yourself up if you have registry corruption. All PC's using Windows operating systems will develop registry corruption sooner or later and in varying amounts. All we can do is use a good system and registry cleaner to get and keep it free of this corruption. This is the simple, and really, the only solution we have and it's not such a bad one.

Computer freezes are just horrible. However, keeping a PC free of registry corruption is easy and is most likely the answer to your PC freeze puzzle. Even if you have a computer not yet experiencing these most disruptive freezes, it is probably a good idea to get ahead of the curve and keep your registry free of corruption so you won't have deal with the horror computer freeze-ups can cause. click here to scan your computer now.

Today the world has become computer oriented and studies have showed that more than 80% of the people use computers on regular basis. Problems like eyestrain, dry eyes, headaches, blurred vision and blazing are suffered by most of the people as they have to look at the flat computer screen for long hours. On Computers, Then and Now

By: Jon Simms

Computer (computador) is an appliance which can manipulate data in accordance with a list of instructions. It is a type of data processing system.

Today the computer (computador) has become indispensable in every household and comes in numerous physical forms. The first modern day computer was developed in the mid-20th century, though the concept of computer (computador) and various similar machines existed before. It actually started in 1837, when `The Analytical Engine`, the first fully programmable mechanical computer, was designed by Charles Babbage.

The Earlier versions were huge and bulky and used up a whole room. The device EDSAC (Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator) was one of the very first computers that could implement the stored program architecture. In comparison to them, modern computers (computador) have tiny integrated circuits and are much better in terms of capacity and speed as well as accuracy. Today`s tinier version can even fit in your wrist watch and are powered from the watch battery. Personal computers can be found in almost every house today and in various forms. They are in fact the icons of the information age.

What makes computers (computador) highly versatile and distinguishable from other appliances is that it can be programmed. A calculator can only calculate, just like a washing machine can only wash, but a computer can be programmed to do any kind of job. Software programs are a list of instructions that can be stored and executed by the computer.

A general computer (computador) has four major sections, the arithmetic and logical unit or ALU, the control unit or CU, memory and the interface for input and output devices. These parts of computer are interconnected by busses. The ALU, control unit, registers, and the interface for input and output devices are collectively known as the central processing unit or CPU. The Early CPUs used to be composed of different separate components, however since the 1975; the CPUs are being constructed on a single integrated circuit, the microprocessor.

The ALU is for arithmetic and logical operations of the computer while the control unit is for directing the various parts of a computer (computador). Its job involves reading and interpreting the instructions of the programs one by one and converting them into control signals for operating other parts of the computer.

The earlier version of computer (computador) used Magnetic core memory but today it has been replaced by the semiconductor memory. The main memory of Computer is divided in two parts, RAM or random access memory and ROM or read-only memory. RAM can be written and read anytime through CPU commands. On the other hand, ROM is pre-loaded with software and data that never changes, and it can be only read by the CPU.

I/O is hardware by the means of which a computer(computador) can receive information from the outside world and also sends back results. Common input devices are the keyboard and mouse. While common output devices include monitor and printer. There are some devices that serve as both input and output devices like Hard disk drives, optical disc drives, floppy disk drives etc.

Internet has literary changed our lives. Today people can search all types of information on various subjects, advertise their company or products pass information to a large group of people and do much more merely by a few clicks of the mouse. Whether you want to search a new home or compare prices of the latest mobile or fill up your college form or read the latest Harry Potter book, everything can be done on the Internet through your computer.

With increase of computers (computador) and its uses, an increasing number of professions involving computers have also developed. Computer-related professions include Electrical engineering, Nanoscale engineering Telecommunications engineering, Software engineering, Web design, Desktop publishing and Optical engineering.

Time for A New Computer Power Supply

By: Justin Skinner

The power supply to a computer is often the most underappreciated component of a computer and can well be a key to better, faster and smoother computer speeds of your computer.

But who ever thinks of that silver box tucked away in the back of your computer?

Most people simply have the power supply that came installed in their computer. If it ever overheats and breaks down, stopping their computer from starting dead cold, that is the only time most computer users ever think of, replace or upgrade their computer.

Imagine if you had an erratic source of electricity to your home that was sparkly, erratic or underpowered. In the same way if the power supply is an inexpensive one it may be erratic in its power output. You may well have upgraded your computer - added drives , added a second cd/dvd reader or burner, a new powerful video card , or a number of external USB devices - whether they be mice, keyboards , external drives powered by the USB port alone , and never thought that you were taxing your limited amperage power supply. All of this extra power usage by these new components that you have added to your computer without thinking of the consequences on your already stretched power supply can both dampen your computer performance and shorten the life of your power supply.

How is computer power supplies rated? Computer power supplies are usually rated by amperage. However this is a peak amperage measurement. This can be of a most optimistic rating. Late in the day - a couple of technicians overseas snap one or two of the better examples of their factories workmanship onto a load meter. They snap on the power briefly and note - did you see that - 500 watts. I'm sure I saw 500 watts says technician number 2 and even 3 and they mark the test results down. And if the numbers do not jive absolutely it can always be blamed on batch consistency or even a different group of products. For after all isn't it a test of average load of a number of transformers.

Everything in life as they say comes down to practical logistics.

Most of the mass market computer that you will find in big box stores etc is mass produced. This has advantages of low cost and easy repair at the factory. The product has been set up and tested. If there is a problem with the computer it can be easily fixed, in, most cases with a simple swap of components at the factory. The computer model and its common problems and fixes are well known. The flip side is that the components have been carefully sought out, extensively tested and component quality shaved down to the bone.

As a result you do not have a lot of leeway with power supply to any upgrades or simple USB hardware additions to your computer system. Thus it is a wise idea to replace your power supply.

How can you judge which power supplies are better than others. First of all you can do a rough judgment by weight. The better power supplies will have a lot more copper metal in their transformer and will be much heavier. Inexpensive power supplies are very lightweight. You will notice the heavier weight of better power supplies immediately.

Next the better power supplies will have higher wattage. 200 - 300 watts may be fine for older Pentium 2s and 3s; newer computers may well need a minimum of 350 - 400 watts or more. It is not only power in watts but the consistency that matters. The better power supplies will be marked with consistent power output levels on their markings. As well they may be marked as having dual or more channels, What this means is that there are two or more entirely separate power supply channels, Thus there will be one distinct channel of power for the motherboard and another for the peripherals. When a DVD drive comes on it the power supply to the motherboard will not diminish even for a second.

Your computer speed will be smooooooooth.

The last thing to note is either the amount of plug outputs and the amount fans built into the power supply. The better power supplies will have the luxury of providing lots of extra plugs - both for convenience, and the expandability their power supply offers.

As well there may be extra fans to properly cool the better, more powerful power supplies. Even though there may be extra fans, the power supply over may be incredibly quiet due to the higher quality ball bearing based gearings and advanced sophisticated heat sensing power switching controls.

The ac power supply of your computer may well be the most unappreciated taken for granted component of your computer. A better power supply can be one of the keys to increasing the speed and consistent performance of your computer especially as you upgrade your computer adds new components. Might be a good idea to invest in a new. High quality computer power supply.

Slow Computer Performance? - How to Repair Your Slow Computer Perfectly

By: jery smis

Computers are an essential part of everyday life. It's hard to find someone who hasn't used a computer and doesn't use one regularly. It is such an essential tool because it is used everyday, therefore it's important to keep it in tiptop shape. However, because it is used so often, the computer can start to run slow. There are several reasons as to why this problem occurs.

Corrupt registry

The first thing to look for when dealing with a slow computer speed is the registry. The registry holds all the system, hardware and software preferences. The registry can become corrupt if it isn't cleaned often. Cleaning it not only frees up space, but also solves some system errors that can give you trouble in the future.

If you are looking to get your registry cleaned, there is an easy solution. Commercial software developed for cleaning registries are plentiful today. Just make sure you get one that is up to date and top rated. Also, another tip is to get one that is also an optimizer. Cleaning your registry will do wonders for your computer's performance, optimizing it will get your speed running on overdrive!

Spyware

The second thing you should look into if you want to speed up your computer is checking to see if there is spyware and/or trojans infecting it. Surfing the Internet can be harmful to your operating system because there are so many harmful things out there waiting to damage it. Of course, I'm not advocating you stay off the "Net." I would never be able to go a day without surfing the Internet. I don't even know how I survived 15 years ago!

What I am saying is this, you should make sure you have a virus and spyware scanner installed on your computer and set up to run daily. Any decent spyware cleaner is also geared to clean your computer of known viruses, as well. On top of this, it will also scan for adware, malware, trojans and the like and it will delete these parasites after it finds them. So, this why it is important to have a quality spyware, or more accurately stated, a quality anti-spyware program installed on your computer.

Remember, even though it is not spyware's intent to slow down your computer, it does. Sometimes it will slow a computer down to an absolute halt! Automatically running a spyware scan, automatically will make sure you won't run into problems with this type of garbage slowing down your computer's speed, especially if you are using a highly rated spyware cleaner.

Too little memory

Another thing you should look for when your computer is running slow is the amount of memory or computer ram you have. As technology progresses, more and more programs are requiring more ram to run smoothly. Having adequate ram is essential to keeping the computer fast, especially if you plan on running multiple programs at once, which of course, we all do.

A computer running Windows XP can usually run well with 512MB of memory, unless it is a super gamer. In this case it may require twice as much RAM. A computer running Windows Vista needs 1024MB or 1Gig of memory in order to assure it will not run slowly.

Recently I've seen computers sold that were originally designed to run Windows XP. At the last minute, the manufacturers loaded them with the newly released Windows Vista. So, these computers were unbearably slow right out of the box because they only had 512MB of memory.

So, if you have a new computer with Vista and it has been slow right from the very start, see if it is one of these computers. It will be easy enough to have another memory stick added and your computer will be off and running.

There are other things that could be slowing down a computer but these things are not too common unless the computer is really old. Corrupt registry, spyware and insufficient ram are, by far and away the most common reasons why a computer loses speed.

Getting a Slow Computer? How to Fix Your Slow Computer Step by Step

By: jery smis

If your answer is yes, then you are probably one of the many computer owners out there who have or do not perform maintenance works on their PC. Computers, like the humans who have built them, are prone to error. Through time, a computer's performance will gradually slow down, but with the proper care and maintenance, a computer's life will remain robust and healthy. Many PC users take maintenance tips for granted, not knowing that these are the very things that can solve their computer's speed problems.

Maintenance tips can keep your computer perform smoothly so you won't have to wonder why is your computer very slow. Your computer is exposed to a number of harsh elements on a regular basis, including heat, dust, and moisture - all of which can cause its deterioration and make your computer very slow. The first thing you need to be mindful of is the way you turn off and turn on your computer. You should turn off your computer only after Windows has properly shut down; otherwise, you'll cause adverse effects to your hard drive. When you turn on your computer, avoid entering commands until Windows has fully started up; otherwise, you'll cause your computer to slow down.

In connection with power, it is strongly suggested that you protect your computer from critical power outages and high and low voltage occurrences by using an uninterruptible power supply or UPS. A UPS functions better than a surge protector; it will help your computer hurdle through power disasters of any kind and keep it away from crashes that can turn a computer very slow. Loss or cutting of power may lead to the loss of important data or the impossible recovery of files. Another way to protect yourself from these unfortunate events is by performing back up every time. Most homes have UPS; you just need to search your house for one that you can use.

One of the most common reasons that make a computer very slow is the presence of viruses, malware, and spyware, which are all mortal enemies of your computer system. It is thus very important that you scan your computer for these harmful elements on a regular basis and defrag your computer once in a while. Run a free yet tried and tested anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-spyware removal software package. Keeping your registry clean all the time is one of the secrets in maintaining your computer's good speed. Since your registry functions as the main command processor of the entire computer system, it only follows that it will suffer from performance problems when it becomes too cramped or full. Use a free reliable registry cleanup software package to get your registry organized once again and to free up space on your memory. Not only can lack of memory space make a computer very slow, it also causes runtime errors.

Doing maintenance work on your computer is easier than most PC users think. Moreover, it's the best and cheapest way to prevent your computer from running very slow.

Computer Speed Problems - How to Increase Your Computer Speed in Two Steps

By: jery smis

Is your computer running slow? Are you tired of waiting forever for your computer applications to start? Is your internet taking forever to load? If so read on to find out how to speed up your computer.

The three main reasons why computers start to run slow are: you have some type of spyware, adware, or virus; your computer is outdated; or there are errors in your registry.

One big reason peoples computers run slow is because of spyware, adware, or viruses. Signs that you have one of these are your browser homepage being changed, popup ads appearing out of nowhere, missing files, and so on. Another big sign that your computer is infected is if you have a program that looks like an antivirus program and keeps telling you that your computer is infected, and then directs you to order the full version in order to disinfect it. If you think this is the reason your computer is running slow then I would recommend getting a reputable virus scanner and anti-adware/spy ware program. You can get these free online, a good antivirus program is Avira or Avast, and a good antispyware program is Spybot Search & Destroy or Ad-Aware. Update these programs, then completely disconnect your internet and do a full system scan with both programs. If your infection is really bad I would highly recommend reinstalling your operating system.

Another reason peoples computers tend to run slow is because they have a very old computer with outdated RAM (Random Access Memory) and CPU. The problem with having an old computer is that most software programs today are very large and take up a significant amount of resources. If you don't have at least 1 GB of RAM and a 1 Ghz CPU, and you are trying to run newer programs, then you probably need to upgrade your computer. To find out how much resources your computer is using press CTRL-ALT-DELETE to show the Task Manager. In the task manager click on the Performance tab and you will see how much CPU and Memory you are using.

The last and most common reason peoples computers run slow is because of registry errors. Every windows operating system has what's called a registry. This registry stores all of your computers' configurations and settings, and is made up of what are called Keys and Values. Every time you install new software or a new update you are inadvertently making changes to the registry of your computer. And whenever you uninstall a program some changes that were made when the program was installed are left in the registry. All these changes to the registry eventually end up causing registry errors. And these registry errors drastically slow down your computer. This is probably the number one reason why computers start to slow down. Unless you really know how to maintain your computer it is inevitable that registry errors will cause your computer to slow down. This of course only applies to Windows users, Mac users don't have this problem. The only way to fix this problem is to download a program called a registry fixer. These programs go through your registry and look for any errors and then fix them by either deleting unnecessary keys or resetting values.

Those are three the main ways to fix a slow running computer. There are other reasons why a computer would run slowly but they are too technical or specialized for this article to go into.

As you use your computer for a while, you will one day discover that it is running slower than usual. When you initially got your computer, it was very fast and error free. So how did your new computer turn into a very slow computer?

Even if you bought a high end PC then, there will really come a time where it will become slow. This is brought about by several reasons. But instead of buying a new computer, here is how to fix it.

1. Clean up your computer.

If you are currently dealing with a very slow computer, there is one easy and effective method you can do so that it can be speed up once again. You can simply clean and organize your hard drive. In order to do this task, the windows operating systems, including XP and Vista are equipped with some tools which can help you to fix a slow computer.

The tool is called disk cleanup and can be found in the system tools menu which is under your accessories. This cleans up temporary folders and files where most of your files can be erased from your computer.

Once this is done, it can make your PC faster by freeing some memory and disk space. Another tool you can use is the disk defragment. It is located in the system tools menu as well and it works by organizing the hard drive. This means that your folders and files are re-organized in your computer. By doing so, your hard drive is significantly being sped up since it has an easier time locating files.

2. Remove spyware.

While the above mentioned tools may not be sufficient to boost up the speed of your slow computer, another option you can do is to scan and remove the spyware and the viruses which are on your system and help fix a slow computer.

You can try protecting your PC by using security software programs. These will make your computer less corrupt and more safe. Since spyware programs not only consume the resources of your computer, they also steal important data and passwords on your computer.

3. Clean your windows registry.

Lastly, you can try fixing a slow computer by cleaning all of the errors which can be found in the registry of your computer. This is like a large database where your application, hardware and other settings are being stored. If there are any errors in it, it will lead to a slow boot up, freezing, and a slow internet speed.

By using registry cleaner programs, you can scan and fix the errors which are inside your registry. In return, your computer will perform just like new again. For many people, this is usually the most effective answer and the way to fix a slow computer.

Out with An Old Computer, In with A New One

By: Justin Sloan

Computers are great. When you receive your first computer, you will be amazed and a little confused at what you need. The first time you surf the Internet, you will be hooked; there is no better feeling. As time goes on, you will find that the computer that you purchased does not suit you needs anymore. With all of the tools that are available such as downloads and online games, your computers memory will soon be insufficient. When this happens, it may be time to sell your old computer in order to purchase a bigger and better one.

You can find upgrades for your computer by doing a Google search, however, with the advances that are made in technology everyday, the upgrades may not be compatible with your computer. This is also true when you install a new operating system that may require new hardware. It is very easy to end up spending way more than the cost of a new computer. In some instances, you can save yourself a lot of time, money and headaches just by purchasing a new computer. This is not to say that upgrading your computer is a waste of time and money, only that there are times when it is unnecessary.

Once you have made the decision to purchase a new computer, you have to decide what to do with the old one. Even though it may not suit your needs, it is still a good computer that someone else may benefit from. There are several different things you can do with your old computer.

Kids - When you have school age children, giving them your computer can not only give them great joy, it can also assist them in their schoolwork. In today's school system, many different subjects are taught and they are also required to do homework that requires a lot of research. Your old computer may be perfect for them because you can install educational materials such as encyclopedias and thesaurus' can be installed to assist them with their schoolwork.

Often times, older people will shy away from purchasing a computer because they feel that they are too old to learn how to use one and that it is an expense that they can live without. However, if you give your old computer to them, they will often be more receptive to learning how to use it. Once they catch on, they will wonder how they got along without one. Another advantage of giving your computer to someone who has limited knowledge is that if he or she somehow causes a critical error, it is more easily fixable than with a new computer. This will give him an incentive to learn and later purchase one with more features and a larger memory.

Another thing that you can do with your old computer is to use it to store all of your records and important information such as bank statements as well as insurance and mortgage information. With this use it is recommended to disconnect it from the Internet to avoid anyone hacking into it, and also prevent any viruses from attacking it.

There are many different uses for your old computer. Even if your needs have outgrown the computers capabilities, it can still be a useful machine in your home.

A Brief History of Computers

By: Sean Murphy

Computers have become a part and parcel of our day to day life. They are widely used in offices as well as homes and have revolutionized the functioning of our society. The present day computers have evolved over a long period of time. There are many people who contributed towards the growth of computers. Though the earliest models were very costly and remained with government or large companies and research institutions, today computers are widely available at affordable prices. If you do not want to own one you can always get it through computer rentals.

Early models

Earlier tools that helped people calculate were called calculators, which gradually became more complex. The earlier models were huge and occupied almost entire rooms. The breakthrough began in 1936, when Konrad Zuse invented Z1- Zuse, the first ever freely programmable computer.

In 1942 John Atanasoff and Cliff Berry formed ABC computers. Followed by this, Howard Aiken and Grace Hopper brought out the Avard Mark 1 computer in 1944. With the sponsorship of the US Military, John Mauchly and JohnPresper Eckert developed the Electrical Numerical Integrator and Calculator or ENIAC 1 calculator. In 1948 Frederic Williams and Tom Kilburn developed the Manchester Baby Computer and The Williams Tube using cathode ray tube.

Transistor

The invention of transistor in 1947 by John Bardeen, Walter Brattain & Wiliam Shockley and the invention of the first commercial computers by John Presper and John Machauly in 1951 aided in the further evolution of computers. International Business Machines (IBM) entered the history of computers in 1953.

In 1954, John Buckus and IBM developed the first ever successful programming language. The first banking computer capable of reading MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) was developed in 1955 jointly by the Stanford Research Institute and Bank of America.

Integrated chip and Microprocessor

Development of the integrated chip in 1958 by Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce was another significant milestone in the history of computers. The first computer game was invented in 1962. The mouse came into existence in 1964.

1970s saw the invention of dynamic RAM, microprocessor, floppy and networking. In the mid 70s consumer computers were developed. 1980s saw the evolution of home computers with graphical user interface. By the 80s, Microsoft and Apple started rolling out their products in the market.

Personal Computer

The personal computers that we see today underwent many changes. With each passing day we see more and more innovation and applications that are being developed to support a host of functions aimed at a wide range of uses.

Evolution of computers helped in changing our lifestyle. Computer applications support a wide array of activities and sectors that have a direct impact on us. They have revolutionized business processes and very few types of businesses are able to function without a computer these days. For small business enterprises it is not that easy to acquire latest computers. However, computer rentals allow them to use these products without a huge capital outflow.

Do You Have a Slow Running Computer - Speed it Up and Stop it From Crashing now

By: Brad Armstrong

In the world of computers everything changes very fast. Products are being improved all the time. Today's fantastic computer is old news tomorrow and it is hard to keep up with all the latest developments. If you have a slow running computer it is even worse.

Not only are desktops evolving with high-speed, so are laptops. Today your desktop or laptop may be a fast and speedy computer, but in six months time they will have built something even faster.

Buying the newest PC on the market is not always a solution when dealing with a slow computer. There may be various reasons why your computer is not working as fast as it should.
