So we were talking, and someone said, " You spend a lot of time at your PC. So do I. Why have I got spots, and you haven't?" Fair question.
Acne can strike teens, adults, even babies!. As far as I can make out, its partially age linked, partially heriditary - if your relatives are spotty youre odds on to be zit terrritory,possibly hormonal, not reliably linked to diet, dirtiness or sexual practices, and not curable, but acne IS controllable/ treatable.
If you are suffering from acne outbreaks at the computer, and they are giving you grief, consider the following possible acne causes:
- Stress has a strong linkage to acne outbreaks, especially in adults. What's the cause, can it be eliminated, can it be avoided or can it be reduced? PC, other staff, family, relationships, or something as mundane as heat, humidity and poor ventilation where you are?. Sometimes you should walk away from the problem, so you can see the whole picture, break it down and sort it out.
- Breaks -a good acne remedy is get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sun for a few minutes, Your immune system needs a chargefrom Mother Nature, and possibly a break with (or away from) other humans. If you cant get out, at least move away.
-Lack of Hydration. You need need plenty of liquid through you to flush out poisons and toxins from your body. Some think that gunge that can't get out any other way wll exit through your skin hence pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and to keep you fresh and alert.
The best acne treatment is to keep plenty of water/fruit juic/low sugar squashes handy and use them whenever thirst strikes. At the same time, ease back on the stimulants and depressants - coffee, tea, fizzy canned drinks, Beaujolais or buckets of vodka.
- Ladies, are you using oily cosmetics, is it 'that time of the month' or just before , or are you pregnant? That's hormonal (well the last three are) and will pass. So will the the first (probably) if you switch to light or oillless cosmetics, at least for the duration. This will also help you avoid acne cosmetica generally.
- Poor Diet? The jury is out here. May not cause acne directly, but may cause stress, definitely contributes to obesity. So if you are working in what is essentially a low exercise office environment, a good acne remedy might be to go for the healthier low fat option, and eat plenty of vegetables, fruit and low fat protein (fish, meatless protein,chicken, turkey) and ease off on snacking on junk, spicy or highly processed foods, fatty meats and deep fried food.
-Allergies - A rash or ecszma is one of the possible symptoms from a reaction to a particular food, and. isn't acne, but can look just as bad. See your doctor if its sudden - allergies can develop later in life. Top food allergens are: Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree nut (walnut, cashew, etc.) ,Fish, Shellfish, Soy products,Wheat products (bread, wheat cereals). Children may grow out of food allergies to milk, eggs, soybean products and wheat.( Please note that a Wheat Allergy is not the same as Gluten Intolerance! Gluten Intolerance Celiac's Disease) is NEVER outgrown and must be medically managed!) Unfortunately, people RARELY outgrow allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shellfish.
- wash your skin with a gentle cleanser. Dont scour it. pick or scratch at your spots. If a few zits appear, try an over the counter remedy and see if they clear up.
- There are conditions such as rosacea, that mess your skin but need different treatment. Again if its not recurrent, see your doctor or dermatologist, who can prescribe a topical or intensive treatment. However, for really bad sudden skin outbreaks of any type - see your doctor or dermatologist. See what they suggest as a proper acne treatment.

So let's talk about the 3 basic fundamentals of computer speed those 3 basic fundamentals are connection hardware and software. These areas are all there really is to the slowing down of computer speed or more importantly the speeding up of your computer. Your computer speed stops and slows down when you have a bad connection or when you have slow or old or bad hardware orwhen you have software that is some how not optimized properly or that in not running properly or that just takesup too much of your computer memory reserves. So those arethe 3 areas that are the fundamentals of computer speed.
They are where your speed comes from and they are where your speed falls apart. Looking at fundamentals and knowing these fundamentals make it easier for you to understand and just how to improve computer speed. This brings out one of the missing links and opens up one of the biggest problems when it comes to computer speed and that is most of the people addressing computer speed are only looking at one of these areas.
When I looked for the fundamental of computer speed using a research technique called the stable datum I found that there is really nothing else in a computer that you can repair other than hardware, software, or connection to the internet. So, those are the areas you want to start to look at when you want to improve computer speed.
This method makes it very easy to know what to do. Obviously the first thing to start with is hardware and unlike the others you really cannot tweek hardware that much. It can be done to some degree but really the way you would improve hardware is to get a more up-to-date or more efficient or faster piece of hardware. Sometime just a newer way of create a simple hardware tool will greatly improve you computer speed experience.
You can do things like get a better keyboard or a better mouse a bigger hardrive a more advanced mother board anything more improved so to speak. And as we all know things get improved at the speed of light on the internet. So thats pretty much all you can do with hardware.
Next thing we want to talk about here is software and software is a whole different thing because software is the brain of the computer. Software is what makes the computer do things. It is vital to have hardware but nothing very exciting happens until you fire up the software. We may as well start with the basic piece of software and that is Windows XP and all of the software pieces that go along with Windows XP. These are the items that you will need to be tweeking and this includes XP itself, Internet Explorer, & Microsoft Outlook. This also includes the way Windows XP load onto your computer during the start up process. Those are the first areas you will have to optimize to get any speed.
Now one of the things that make this seem more complex than it is there is always a dozen ways to do one simple thing on XP. Programmers do things one way hackers do it another way and a researcher like me I just try to find the safest and easiest way to the same end result. Just knowing the fastest way find or do a task on your computer can speed up your computing experience in a way you probably never thought of.
What you will find is that many of the default or out of the box ways that Windows XP does tasks can be changed in order to give you more speed and performance. Windows standard setting are often set very broad and general. When focused just a little you get tons more speed.
Now you can either do these adjustments yourself or you can buy software that makes the setting adjustments for you. I recommend you do both because some adjustments are way too simple to pay for and others are way too complex to risk doing yourself.
There is also the reverse of this when we are talking about software as a fundamental of computer speed. Some of the time your computer has software on it that needs to come off because it is the source of the loss in computer speed itself. This is where spyware removal software and anti virus software become valuble. You definately want to take a look at this kind of software& improve the ones you have on your computer. A high price does not mean high quality either.
Connection is the next thing that we want to talk about. Connecting to the internet is how most of us do much of our work with our computer. So if you have terrible connection speed or if your service is not fast or if the modem you are using in not good. So you immediately see that you can do a lot to speed up your computing by change and improving the things that connect you to the internet.
A satellite T-1 connection is about the fastest but I prefer cable because it is not affected by weather. Cable is awesome because it is very stable and I have been using it for year now and it out performs most alternatives. DSL on the phone lines is your next best choice if cable is not available. Just try to get the fastest service you can.
Connection speed is also dependant on the software that is used to connect to the internet service that you use. We have found that you can do software adjustments to Windows that optimize the browser and the email usage of the connection services. Doing these simple adjustments can improve a service dramatically. My cable connection operates at almost satellite speeds.

Your computer, much like your car, may sometimes alert you to
the fact that something is wrong. When you take your car to
the repair shop you probably tell the technician that it is
making some strange noise that you have never heard before.
This often helps the technician diagnose the problem.
Computers have the same advantage. Often the noises that a PC
makes will tell you what the problem is. I have tried to match
the noise, tuff to do when writing it, with the problem. Listen
to your PC and then check below to see if you hear a match.
Remember, if your PC is making noise that it didn’t make when
it was new means it has a problem and depending on the severity
could cause permanent damage.
Sounds Like…..
No noise, my computer use to have a noise put in the last few
days has been pretty quite.
Stop what you are doing and check the back of your PC, there
will be a grill area next to the power cord connector with a
fan installed. If you can’t feel any air coming out of the fan
take a closer look to see if the fan is running. If the fan is
not turning (with the computer on), you have a problem with the
power supply. You must replace the fan as soon as possible.
In most cases it is cheaper to replace the power supply that
houses the fan rather then attempting to replace the fan alone.
The fan in your computers power supply is what cools the
internal components and if it’s not working you will overheat
the PC.
My computer makes a loud noise that is constant; it never made
that sound before! Again, this is probably a fan problem;
follow the steps above to make sure its not the power supply
fan. Most computers also have internal fans, they may be
mounted on one of the expansion slots of your PC, you will
most probably have one or two attached to the CPU (Central
Processing Unit). You must open the computer case to check these.
THIS IS IMPORTANT, the CPU fans must be working, with the case
off, turn your computer on, NEVER TOUCH INTERNAL COMPONENTS
WHILE THE PC IS ON. Check to make sure all fans are running.
If there is a fan that is not turning or is turning erratically
turn your PC off and check the wire power connections to the fan.
Restart the PC and check to see if this fixed the problem.
If a fan is still not running replace it right away. The CPU
fan cools the processor and its imperative that it remains on.
When I use my CD-ROM/CD-Writer, my PC makes loud noises and
shakes the whole thing!
The new high-speed CD devices make this noise because of the
high speed, this is normal.
Sometimes my computer is makes a clanging noise when it starts
and it seems to be getting worse! This noise is perfect
indication that your hard drive is dying. Stop now and backup

Your computer, much like your car, may sometimes alert you to
the fact that something is wrong. When you take your car to
the repair shop you probably tell the technician that it is
making some strange noise that you have never heard before.
This often helps the technician diagnose the problem.
Computers have the same advantage. Often the noises that a PC
makes will tell you what the problem is. I have tried to match
the noise, tuff to do when writing it, with the problem. Listen
to your PC and then check below to see if you hear a match.
Remember, if your PC is making noise that it didn’t make when
it was new means it has a problem and depending on the severity
could cause permanent damage.

No noise, my computer use to have a noise put in the last few
days has been pretty quite.
Stop what you are doing and check the back of your PC, there
will be a grill area next to the power cord connector with a
fan installed. If you can’t feel any air coming out of the fan
take a closer look to see if the fan is running. If the fan is
not turning (with the computer on), you have a problem with the
power supply. You must replace the fan as soon as possible.
In most cases it is cheaper to replace the power supply that
houses the fan rather then attempting to replace the fan alone.
The fan in your computers power supply is what cools the
internal components and if it’s not working you will overheat
the PC.
My computer makes a loud noise that is constant; it never made
that sound before! Again, this is probably a fan problem;
follow the steps above to make sure its not the power supply
fan. Most computers also have internal fans, they may be
mounted on one of the expansion slots of your PC, you will
most probably have one or two attached to the CPU (Central
Processing Unit). You must open the computer case to check these.
THIS IS IMPORTANT, the CPU fans must be working, with the case
off, turn your computer on, NEVER TOUCH INTERNAL COMPONENTS
WHILE THE PC IS ON. Check to make sure all fans are running.
If there is a fan that is not turning or is turning erratically
turn your PC off and check the wire power connections to the fan.
Restart the PC and check to see if this fixed the problem.
If a fan is still not running replace it right away. The CPU
fan cools the processor and its imperative that it remains on.
When I use my CD-ROM/CD-Writer, my PC makes loud noises and
shakes the whole thing!
The new high-speed CD devices make this noise because of the
high speed, this is normal.
Sometimes my computer is makes a clanging noise when it starts
and it seems to be getting worse! This noise is perfect
indication that your hard drive is dying. Stop now and backup
any important data that you have, because once the hard drive
starts making a loud clanging sound it won’t be long before
your PC stops booting to it. There is no way to repair the hard

Just when you think the malicious virus authors have slowed down, they go and invent something new to bring trouble to computer users everywhere. One of the newer forms of viruses is called a 'rootkit' and it's here to make your day miserable.
One thing that has made viruses easier to deal with over the years has been their visibility. Executables that contains the virus usually have names that are different from standard programs on computer systems, so they are easy to identify. When the virus renames the standard file and replaces it with the virus, the new one often has a different date or was of a different size and they show up in the task manager list of programs on Windows. This makes them fairly easy to identify either by you, or by your antivirus software.
Rootkits are much more dangerous than other types of virus infections simply because they can easily hide these malicious files making them harder to find by both antivirus software programs and by the individual user.
Rootkits actually began with Sony in November 2005, when they began using rootkits on some music CDs as a way of hiding copy protection files. Ever the inventors, hackers began turning this technology into something to cause harm. Any file that began with '$sys$" was invisible, so the hackers named their malware in ways to take advantage of this shortcoming.
Distributing these rootkits became as easy as passing along any other virus. The rootkits have been distributed through spyware downloads which are initiated when you click on ads, by downloading free software, and by opening e-mail attachments. One click is all it takes to start the damage.
Some of these rootkits even found their way into the boot area of hard drives. That means that the technique many of us employ of rebooting our computers in order to clear out memory is no longer effective. These rootkits will simply restart every time the operating system restarts itself.
And unfortunately many automated virus scanning programs, or antivirus software programs, are set up to scan only regular programs and not the boot sector. In the early days of viruses boot sectors viruses were common (because of floppy disk based infections) so anti-virus programs could protect against them. Then we stopped fitting floppy drives to computers so the need for boot sector protection went away.
Once the rootkits are hidden in boot sectors it's possible for it to become the program that controls many of the basic computer functions, and can control specific parts of the hardware itself.
This makes it nearly impossible to install software that can combat the rootkit. Really, there's nothing the virus can't do; it can hide it's workings from any application that is charged with checking for virus applications. It can even hide its efforts from the higher-level functions of the computer's operating system.
If your computer begins running funny, you might not suspect a rootkit, but instead assume that Windows is acting odd as it does now and then. Very few of us are going to be well-versed enough to suspect that a rootkit is, in fact, the cause of the problems. If you suspect your system might be infected with a rootkit then Google rootkit removers and you should find something to help you sort the problem out. AVG is one example of a free anti-virus program that could help you identify and remove rootkits.
