One, lower prices means that that technology is on its way to being faced out as new ones are emerging. They are offered at cheaper prices because they are already outdated. Do you want to get stuck with a personal computer that will face extinction in just a few years? Secondly, technology is always going to come up with newer, better, faster, and more powerful computers and there's nothing you can do to stop it. If you keep holding out for something more powerful, then you're waiting on a fool's errand.

* Buying just the computer. Yes indeed, you are shopping for a new computer, but that doesn't mean that you don't need the other accessories that comes along with it. While some stores may opt to sell you the CPU alone, you will still need to buy other items like speakers, a working keyboard and mouse, perhaps a printer, and many others.

* Opting to extend warranties. People have long believed that a longer warranty would mean better security and value for an item that you have just purchased. What the customer does not realize is that he is spending for more than what he should have. Most warranties that they offer would add more cost to what you're buying. The irony is that computer owners will learn that most computers will crash after the period of warranty. That would mean lost cash and new expenses for repair. With the way technology is evolving these days, the parts that you will need by that time will probably be obsolete.
