3 Things That Slow Down Your Computer And What You Can Do To Correct Them

Your computer has become the most important tool in modern life. At work you may spend hours every day on the computer. Your children use computers at school and at home to assist them with their education. Your whole family uses computers everyday to communicate with family and friends for entertainment too. Others are using computers to keep track of their finances, and  to store vital health records. Now more and more people are using computers to help them start and run internet businesses, full time or part time. As a result many homes have more than one desktop and laptop that they use  diligently and regularly.

When you take your computer out of the box it runs as fast as it was meant to operate. But with time and constant use you begin to notice that it runs slower and slower and slower, until it seems that it takes forever to do the simplest tasks. Don't throw it out the window. You can speed up your old friend. There are three mail reasons for loss of computer operating speed

CORRUPTED REGISTRY
The first cause of slow operating lies is in the REGISTRY which holds the entire computer system, hardware and software preferences together. Over time your computer REGISTRY becomes corrupted with extra stuff and fragments which are like 'dirt' that needs to be cleaned from time to time, not only to free up space but to stop errors and bring your system back to how it operated the day you took it out of the box. You can find many registry cleaning products on the market today that you can use to do it yourself. But make sure that you choose an updated and reliable product. Regular REGISTRY CLEANING will do wonders for the speed and performance of your computer.

VIRUSES, SPYWARE and MALWARE
The second cause of slow computer operation is infection by VIRUSES SPYWARE and MALWARE. As long as you spend time online your computer will be exposed to malicious, harmful Viruses, Spyware and Malware that infect your computer while you are on the internet. Since staying out of the internet is not an option, you have to make sure that you install and maintain efficient scanners to quickly find and eliminate the attacks. Don't settle for any old scanner however, find suppliers, with good reputations for dealing with VIRUSES, SPYWARE and MALWARE and keep your computer operating the way it should and you want it to work.

NOT ENOUGH RAM
The third main reason for slow computer performance is not enough RAM (Random Access Memory). As you add newer and bigger programs and applications the demand for RAM increases. Not enough RAM could slow your computer to a crawl. Your computer may need as much as twice the amount of RAM you had in the beginning. The good news is that most computers are built with space to add more RAM chips. But unless you are a technician this is one operation for which you may need expert assistance to choose and install the right type and amount of RAM.

There are many other factors that cause slow computer operation. These three –  1. Corrupted Registry, 2. Viruses, Spyware and Malware infections and 3. Not Enough RAM are the most common. If you monitor and maintain them you should enjoy many hours of speedy computing.
