Why is your computer so slow? There is a good chance what we refer to as malware and spyware could be the problem. It is typical for a computer to start to show signs of deteriorating as soon as certain types of spyware or malware enter into the computer's files. From here what happens next depends upon the types of malware present and other factors, such as the computer's resources and its general overall condition.
Let's take a look at what spyware does and what effect it can have on a computer's ability to function correctly. Then, let's see how to make sure they never get a chance to do their misdeeds on your PC and stop your computer running slow.
What does spyware do?
Without mention of the damage that could be done by spyware in the form of spying on your personal habits and perhaps, credit card numbers, the effect spyware could have on your computer's performance is devastating! In fact this can shut your computer down by corrupting windows.
Spyware's main job is to spy. While doing so, it uses many of your computer's resources and so, the computer slows down. Of course, a lot of spyware will slow the computer down a lot. I must add, I have seen very many poor performing computers where this was exactly the case and it can hog a lot of memory and your computer may keep freezing too.
Malware infections.
Malware can be spyware or even trojans that are very hard to detect and take over your computer in some cases and use it without you even knowing about it, harming your computer and the only sign that anything is going on is your disk drive light and your network activity light on your modem are constantly flashing away when you are not using the computer.
What all this means is, once a computer starts to slow down noticeably, it could very well be because of the presence of spyware or malware. Even when there are other issues with the computer that are complicating the problem, in about 65 to 70% of slow running computers, there is some type of spyware or viruses present.
So, how can you get rid of this? You have to scan for malware everyday with a system scanner. This will scan for malware and spyware hiding anywhere on your computer and help you to remove it In many cases, antivirus programs are not protecting their user's computers effectively.
