Did You Ever Ask Yourself "Why Does My Computer Keep Freezing?"

By: Winston Mah

Almost all computer users might already have experienced working on some task and then experience a sudden freeze. Although this is a normal thing that most computers go through, many people are still wondering and asking themselves, "Why does my computer keep freezing?" and some other stuff similar to that one.

Well, besides the usual technical inconsistencies that might have caused the freezing of the computer screen, here are some things that a computer user might want to keep in mind the next time he/she encounters the same situation.

Basically, before a computer user says the "Why does my computer freeze" line, he/she should look first at the task that he/she is doing. Is he/she opening all of the programs at the same time? Is he/she downloading a particular file which has a big size? Is it really necessary for him/her to open all the programs at the same time? These are some questions that might help the computer user decide on how he/she is going to execute the task without giving so much pressure to his/her computer's system.

Another thing that someone who uses a computer might want to look at before his/her impending "Why is my computer freezing" line is his/her computer's overall capacity to carry out the tasks that the user needs to do. Sometimes, a certain hardware cannot accommodate the technical demands of a particular software, so a computer user might want to have his/her computer upgraded by computer professionals.

A Windows screen freeze might actually be a sign that a certain threat like a virus, spyware or bug is lurking around the corner. Detectors might not be able to see and remove them right away, so computer users should be very careful about storing and retrieving certain files from the internet and other external sources. If this is unavoidable, then computer users should find the best threat detectors out there. He/she can ask other computer users about the most trusted and most effective threat detectors, so he/she can be sure of his/her purchase if ever he/she decided to install it in his/her computer.

Lastly, a screen freeze might not actually be a screen freeze. Sometimes, computers actually process information that might make the computer's interface to be a bit stiff or hanging in a way. A computer user should never pull the plug off when this happens. One thing to do is to wait for the computer to respond again. If it does not after a few minutes, then the computer user can press the power button for five (5) seconds, which will automatically shut down the computer in a safer way.

The next time computer user experience computer or screen freezing, he/she should not panic about it and worry too much about spending and asking somebody to do the task. Preventive measures, utmost care and proper handling would still be the unbeatable techniques in order for the computer system to be up and running normally once again. Work will continue, and everything goes back to normal.
