Computer Sluggish? Have you checked your registry?

Spy-ware and viruses are the bane of computers they can eat up your CPU's processing time and make your computer sluggish.

Another often overlooked culprit in making your computer sluggish is the registry.  The registry is a huge data base on your computer that keeps track of virtually all of the settings in your computer and all of the settings for all of the software installed on your PC. Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer the registry is changed to to record these settings. Over time the registry can be come corrupt with old entries for old software that you no longer use or is no longer on your computer.  This can cause problems, maybe even the problems making your computer sluggish.

Is your computer sluggish?  Does your computer freeze up for no apparent reason?  On some occasions it can go beyond what makes your computer sluggish.  Computers can even display the dreaded blue screen and HKEY errors. Have you ever had your computer suddenly inform you that it was shutting down in order to avoid damage to itself?  All of this is typical of a corrupted registry.  Usually you simply shut everything down and start it up again and go on computing even though it made your computer sluggish.  Still, if you have just lost three hours of work, it can be very frustrating.

At this point you could send your computer to a repair shop to find out what is making your computer sluggish but be prepared to pay a lot.  In the majority of these cases a good piece of software can fix most of the common registry problems.  You can even run a scan to see if you have any problems before buying the software. Once you run the scan and decide if you need a good registry cleaning you simply buy a key for the software and enter it into the software.  Then you can select "fix" and the software will repair most if not all of the problems it has detected.  This is the same software that they will run on your computer at the repair shop, but charge you a lot more.

Corruption causes sluggish computers.

It isn't unusual for a PC to have over 1000 registry problems. With that many problems it is no wonder it makes your computer sluggish. The fact is that a lot less errors than that can make a computer sluggish. Running PC cleaning software can make your PC as fast as it was when it was new.  No matter how many errors you registry has, it is still a good idea to keep its registry clean and good registry software will keep it clean with scheduled scans.

Frustration of it all.
