Three ways that adware and spyware can enter your computer system

In some ways computers are just like people. I say this because inside there are very sensitive parts which could also be compared to software. If there was an infection, the result could potentially be fatal, and the entire system could crash.

Here are three ways that adware or spyware can get into your computer:

-The first way is a pop up that is telling the user that the computer has a virus. This leaves the user thinking that their anti virus program is useless because it did not detect the virus. The user would then be led to download what is offered in the pop up window. This is quite common because a lot of computer users would download just to be on the safe side.

-The second way is by downloading music, pictures, and videos from the internet. Initially it may seem like no trouble, but it is already too late by the time the user notices that something is not right.

-The third way is how people tend to open emails from an unknown source. This is a habit that needs to be stopped as there is no telling what you could be facing when opening that email. Some sites are automatically avoided because they are thrown into your junk mail folder. However, there are hackers out there that are still able to gain entry and get pass those obstacles.

Computer security should be everyone's main concern, and there are companies out there that are doing the hard work. Every day, software is being designed to combat the attack of adware and spyware, and is constantly being updated when developers come across a new type of threat. This anti-spyware software will scan your computer for threats, and it will also look for potential threats. This is how a warning can be sent out to the user when accessing a website or downloading a file.

As soon as the software is downloaded, you are able to scan your computer. If there are problems found, they will be deleted. If you had pop-up ads appearing prior to installing the software, you will start to notice that they do not appear anymore. This will prove that the software has made a difference. The only factor that must be considered before downloading an anti-spyware program is that it must be compatible with your computers operating system.
Fore those that do not have a compatible system, you will have to upgrade your system before you are able to proceed.

Some programs may also include utilities to combat and remove viruses. Viruses are a huge threat to computer users worldwide. Some other techniques to assist the removal software are to set up a firewall and regularly back up your hard drive. The firewall will help to prevent spyware from entering your system in the first place, and by backing up your hard drive you can ensure that you have copies of all of your files and they are kept safe.

If you choose to download an anti-spyware program they will normally include free updates. A good habit is to run the software every couple of days, or just add it to the start-up menu. Some programs are free to download and some will have to be purchased. The decision to choose a program is crucial, as this decision could mean losing important files and personal information.
