Have an old laptop that you don’t know what to do with? Well don’t just throw it away. You can sell it and make a little money. You won’t even have to show that it is in working condition.

If you have a laptop in working condition and you decide to sell it then make sure you clean the hard drive of all your personal data before you sell it. You may find that you missed moving something to your new computer and will be able to find it on your backup.

It would be nice if you can provide to the buyer any documentation you originally received with the computer when you bought it. Someone will probably pay a little more for a computer that comes with the documentation.

To sell a good working used computer you might advertise in your local paper or post some flyers on bulletin boards at local schools or colleges.

Online options for posting ads would be Craigslist or USFreeAds. You might also consider auctioning it off at Ebay.

If your computer is not working then you would be best to sell it to one of the recycle companies that you can find online. They will either strip it for parts or repair the computer and re-sell it.
