It stores information and settings for hardware devices, software applications and user settings. Since it serves as a storage it gets bloated as well.

You will know that it is full when your pc slows down and you start to find your computer freezes. The Windows registry is filled with invalid entries and corrupted files. To correct this problem you can use a system and registry cleaner.
