Today, you can easily find computers in every professional and personal environment. Those days are gone when people believed that computer is only programmed to handle office jobs or business purposes. But with the change of time, you can easily find computers in every house. It's true that computers have changed our lifestyle, giving a new outlook and evolution in the way of working in our day-to-day life.

Often, it has been found that the computers get sluggish when not taken proper care of. Well, the same sort of thing happened with me. There is a huge dwindle for my computer's overall performance while the work load more. At such daunting situation, speed up my computer becomes my first priority. I have noticed that it takes longer time to open a folder or file; the response level becomes very low. Thus I have started to look for methods to speed up my computer, as it is one of the most important tasks that every computer user out there need to pay heeds. I don't want to work with such a computer that use to hang up in the middle and this is where speed up my computer like approach has given me remarkable results. Well, there are various ways I know to achieve a smooth functionality for my computer. Even I know few good tools online that can bring me enough good results while trying to speed up my computer.

Free up disk space - To increase the total performance and the processing speed of my computer, I used disk cleanup tools to increase free disk space. A free disk space allows my processor to work faster while multitasking as it uses the free space as the cache or temporary memory. The disk cleanup tools help to:
- Eliminate internet cookies and web files
- Remove unwanted temporary cache files
- Clean the Recycle Bin
- Remove Error Reports
- Remove the left over data of uninstalled applications

-- Run Disk Defragmenter- To speed up my computer, I used the disk defragmenter, which is a wonderful option. What does the disk defragmenter do is it abolishes the fragments of the memory space left unused amidst the used memory locations in a hard disk. It compiles all the used fragments together thereby pushing out the unused fragments to gather collectively creating more usable free memory making the processor considerably very fast. This boosts the overall performance of your computer. I use to run the disk defragmenter at regular intervals to reinsure the speed of my computer.
-- Use Error Checking Utility - This is a good method to repair and detect disk errors. Many a times the hard disks face bad sector issues that creates problem in saving files and writing data. This is the reason why I use to run the Error checking utility at least once in a week to prevent data loss with my computer. This is also helping me in a great way to speed up my computer.
-- Knockout Spyware - I always prefer to keep my computer protected from different types of spyware that slow down the processor. I am using anti-spyware softwares. Mostly, spywares gather different types of private information without letting you know. And in this process they, interfere the normal course of the system slowing it down too heavily. Therefore, it becomes crucial to use anti-spyware software programs.
-- Use ReadyBoost - I am using ReadyBoost to speed up my computer. People those who are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 will definitely get outstanding results. This has proven to be most effective way to speed up my computer.
-- A wise Anti-Virus selection - I am suing Internet connection for my computer and I know my computer is prone to a number of Internet viruses that result in slowing down the speed. It becomes necessary to use good Anti-virus software. But then I thought I need good antivirus software available in the market. But there are few problems with this antivirus software. Such software once installed in the drive in which the operating system has been loaded slows down the computer like hell. So, I would prefer to consult and pick an antivirus, which doesn't result in hanging up my computer and try installing in some other drive.

Speed up my computer is one of the most important tasks that every computer users should endeavor. Using of a good registry cleaner is always essential in order to keep up the right functionality level for the computer.
