Computer Freeze Fix - Avoid the Nightmare Of Your Computer Freezing

By: Brad Armstrong

There are not too many things more upsetting than having a computer freeze up. Computer freezes are so unforgiving! Yes, it is true you can sometimes recover a document you may have been working on, but Windows never can save it all. So, there is always some work that goes to waste whenever your computer freezes and you need a computer freeze fix.

There is also always a lot of time wasted when a computer freezes up. This is because you have to restart your computer; if it will restart. Then you have to figure out where you were when you were so rudely interrupted and try to get back to your work, or play.

Surprise!

Computer freezes come out of the blue without warning. It would be nice if an alert message came on the screen telling you your computer was about to freeze so you could save everything you have opened, but you will get no such warning. The computer will stop and that is it. It is unfortunate, but at this point there is no choice but to hold the on switch for 5 seconds.

Computer freezes are most often caused by Windows operating system registry problems. It is rare when a freeze is caused by a problem in the PC's hardware. If the computer has a habit of rebooting all of a sudden, this could be a bad power supply in the PC.

A Computer that Reboots on its Own is a Different Problem`

A computer that reboots without being prompted to do so could alternately have a virus, incidents of spyware or registry corruption causing this errant reboot. However, such unwanted rebooting is often cured by changing the power supply.

Freezing problems are almost never caused by a bad power supply. Yes, a virus or spyware could cause a computer freezing problem but most times it is registry corruption that is the culprit behind the freeze.

The Science Behind Freeze-ups

Why would registry corruption cause a computer to freeze? To understand the answer to this, think of a computer freeze as operating system confusion. The operating system is constantly looking for directions to its next instruction. It has to ask the registry where information it needs is stored. When the registry supplies more answers than questions asked, the operating system has no idea what to do and so; it quits.

Of course, all these extra answers would not be in the registry if it was clear of corruption. Also, it could be a virus or spyware has planted this misinformation in the registry and you can find this too with a system and registry scanner.

Preventing Registry Corruption

Most times, registry corruption is the result of normal use. So, don't beat yourself up if you have registry corruption. All PC's using Windows operating systems will develop registry corruption sooner or later and in varying amounts. All we can do is use a good system and registry cleaner to get and keep it free of this corruption. This is the simple, and really, the only solution we have and it's not such a bad one.

Computer freezes are just horrible. However, keeping a PC free of registry corruption is easy and is most likely the answer to your PC freeze puzzle. Even if you have a computer not yet experiencing these most disruptive freezes, it is probably a good idea to get ahead of the curve and keep your registry free of corruption so you won't have deal with the horror computer freeze-ups can cause. click here to scan your computer now.
